Why do people still hold on to old religions, but accept the other changes in the world without question?
I find it odd that we sometimes mock or discount the age-old creation tales of indigenous African tribes, or the ancient Greeks’ pantheon, but swear by a heavenly figure of our own. All creation stories, legends, and teachings are extremely similar, so why do people pick some to be "legitimate" over others? And why do people see those beliefs as so dated and silly, when their own religion is full of the same nonsense and contradictions? And furthermore, why do some people refuse to accept modern thinking about the existence of humans, but gladly accept the modern technology that provides them medicine and computers?
lol i feel the exact same way. My old Social studies teacher would rant about how greek gods didnt exist. then talk about how she goes to church and believes in god. btw how old r u im only 12 id find it extremely weird if u were like 10 years older cuz itd be like a 12 year is thinking like some1 way older than them
